This last one kicked my ass.

First, I’ve been trying a non-photo blue pencil on the last couple strips. It is a good idea (in theory), since it would save me the step of erasing pencil lines after the inking stage. The problem is that it’s MUCH harder to see (the blue) than the regular pencil lines on top of the template I use for the comic! Because it’s harder to see, it’s harder to ink. This one ended up getting drawn TWICE because of the mistakes made inking the first version. Second, was the Photoshop work was a bear. There was a lot of teeny bits to fix once I got this one scanned. For example, there was a LOT more involved in doing the transparency of the Diner window than I originally planned for.

That’s life for you, the stuff you think is simple can be the most complicated.

The next strip will be up Friday and will be another strip in the Intermission series. The strip after that is still scheduled for Monday and will involve reader input. 😉
